Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for a Full time vet nurse for our privately owned small Animals and exotic clinic with attached Wildlife Hospital

  • Must be CertIV qualified or have at least 2 years experience.
  • Happy to use all our amazing equipment including IDEXX, dental, dental xray, digital xray, Pulse oximeter, doppler, laser …
  • Must be a team player but happy to work and think independently (we encourage our nurses to be independent and learn)

Ability to handle not only dogs and cats but also exotics and wildlife. We are looking for someone with a passion for all animals including wildlife, as our clinic also has a wildlife Hospital charity.

Clinic is open 6 days a week, closed on public holidays and Sundays.

Animal Attendant/ Training nurse

Turn your passion for pets into your hands on job. Love and have worked with pets and do anything for the wag of a tail, this is the job for you.
 
Duties
  • Provision of food and water for pets in care
  • Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
  • Must be attentive and have a great attention to detail
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to follow routines, policies and procedures
  • Previous experience working with animals is preferred
 
Up to 20 hours a week with potentially some work on Saturday
Hourly rate from $25 depending on age, experience. Shifts will be between the hours of 7.30am-6pm

Veterinarian

A position exists for a veterinarian to join us at The Ark. The Ark Animal Hospital is an established and expanding five vet practice in Darwin, Northern Territory.

We treat predominantly small animals but are also the main provider of veterinary care for exotics and wildlife in the Darwin region.

In addition The Ark is the leading provider of Dog Health Programs in indigenous communities.

  • You can make a difference in indigenous communities. The Ark offers you the opportunity to go on bush trips and work with AMRRIC with their remote animal health programs.
  • You can see results of your work. With our Animal Welfare contract, support for several non-profit pet rehoming groups, wildlife groups and carers you can see the difference you can make to various animals.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum 2 years’ practicing experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of veterinary practice operations
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing learning and excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy the varied work and wants to make a difference in the lives of our patients
  • Interest in community work, wildlife and exotics is optional but we are happy to provide training and support to the successful candidate.

Salary is above award and commensurate with experience.

Our vets work four days a week and the clinic is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. After hours is shared roster. Further education, particular interest and professional development is supported (financially) and encouraged. Relocation allowance and bonus system available.
