Our clinic offers advice on pet diets, nutrition and husbandry for all pets. Most of our nurses are qualified nutritionists and are able to give you tailored advice for your pet.
- Professional advice on Diet and Husbandry including medication diets for dogs, cats, birds and reptiles.
Good nutrition is important for pet. It keeps them healthy and happy. But there’s no set formula for how often you feed your dog, cat, bird or reptile or what you offer him or her. That’s because each animal is different. We will tailor our advice depending on age, health, activity levels and many more factors.
Our vets also offer consultations for behavioral problems for your pet. They can give you suggestions for prevention and treatment if necessary.
- Behavioral Problems – prevention & treatment – Ranking from aggression in dogs, over grooming in dogs and cats, litter box problems for cat to feather plugging in birds.
- Referrals & Second opinions – if you don’t feel your normal vet is comfortable with unusual species we are experienced and happy to help
Some common problems we see:
- Aggression (towards other animals or people)
- Anxiety disorders (phobias, separation problems etc)
- Overgrooming, feather plugging or excessive licking
- Cognitive dysfunction (brain ageing)
- Excessive vocalization (barking, miaowing and crying)
- Noise phobias (storm, thunder, fireworks etc)
- Toileting in the house or outside a litter tray
- Humping or other sexual behaviours
- Eating or sucking inappropriate things
- Puppy assessment consults and socialization plans
- Preparation for major household changes (such as moving, a baby’s arrival, etc)
- Senior pet behaviors (sleep issues, disorientation, lack of interaction, etc).
We will work with you to develop management strategies, behavior modification, environmental enrichment, and systems to improve the well-being of your pet. Even if you’ve consulted multiple veterinarians or trainers about your pet’s situation, we are happy to help you and your pet.
